John Peel: Heute-abend!

Vanavond een ode aan Mr.DJ : John Peel.... tussen 1967 en 2004 had één van 's werelds beroemdste en beruchtste dj's wekelijks lawaaibandjes in zijn studio voor de inmiddels zo befaamde "Peel-sessions".
Opener in 1967 was progrockband Tomorrow, een week later was het de beurt aan "The Pink Floyd". Zij zouden nog vele malen volgen. Andere bands door de jaren heen: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, PJ Harvey, The Pogues, Motorhead, Radiohead, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen.
We openen vanavond met de favoriete band van John Peel : the Fall en sluiten rond 23.40 af met 20 minuten heroïsche teringherrie van Mogwai.. daar tussendoor bijzondere covers, zware metalen en hier en daar een rustmoment.
